The MATS Cacao Ceremony: A Sacred Afternoon of Heart-Opening & Harmony
Sunday, March 9, The MATS studio transformed into a peaceful sanctuary, a gentle refuge from the outside world. Spring sunlight filtered through the windows as guests arrived and were welcomed into a space of intention, reflection, and warmth.
The ceremony began with a cleansing ritual, using sacred smoke and soft breath to clear the space and the energy each guest carried in. With eyes closed and hearts open, we released what no longer served and made room for renewal — an honoring of the turning season.
With spirits grounded, we opened our hearts in a sacred cacao ceremony, sipping a warm, rich drink lovingly prepared to nourish the body and awaken the soul. This heart medicine offered a gentle invitation to soften, connect, and remember the love within and around us.
As the cacao flowed through us, we joined in a communal drum circle, each beat weaving us together into a shared rhythm. Laughter, stillness, movement — all were welcome. In rhythm, we found a deep sense of togetherness and ancient remembering.
We then surrendered into a deeply restful sound healing journey, carried by the resonance of Tibetan sound bowls, subtle chimes, and harmonizing tones. Time melted as sound vibrations moved through every cell, offering peace, release, and a return to stillness.
To close the ceremonial container, guests received Reiki energy healing, shared through silent hands and compassionate presence. A final wave of restoration washed over the space, a gentle blessing for each spirit in the room.
As guests departed, tulips were lovingly offered as tokens of beauty and remembrance, a tender gesture to celebrate the blossoming season of Spring — a symbol of growth, renewal, and heartful beginnings.
