Small Studio. Strong Community.

Yoga, fitness, and personal connection at The MATS Daly City

There’s something special about walking into a class where people know your name. Someone asks how you’ve been. Your instructor remembers what you’re working on. A familiar face smiles as you find your spot.

At The MATS Daly City, those small moments are part of the experience.

We offer hot yoga, non-heated yoga, and fitness classes in a small, welcoming space. Each class brings a different way to move, but the connection between people is what makes it feel like a community.

A small space with room for you

Our yoga room accommodates up to 10 students. A full class feels cozy, and smaller groups offer more space to spread out.

We know that the size of a studio matters when choosing where to practice. Some people enjoy a large room filled with people. Others feel more comfortable in a smaller setting, where faces become familiar and asking a question feels easier.

If you appreciate a personal atmosphere, you may feel right at home here.

You don’t have to arrive knowing anyone. Getting to know one another happens naturally, one class at a time.

More opportunity for personal attention

In a smaller class, your instructor has more opportunity to notice how you’re moving, offer a helpful cue, and get to know your practice over time.

Maybe you’re learning a yoga posture for the first time. Maybe you’re building strength or finding your balance. Maybe you’re returning to movement after time away and want to ease back in.

Our classes are group experiences, but the attention can feel personal. There’s room to ask questions, explore options, and build confidence without feeling that you need to keep up with everyone around you.

You can start where you are.

Different ways to move, one welcoming community

Some days, you might look forward to the heat and familiar sequence of Hot 26 & 2. Other days, a non-heated yoga class or a fitness class may be what fits your energy and goals.

There’s room for those different preferences at The MATS.

Our instructors bring their own experience, teaching styles, and perspectives. A different explanation might help a movement make sense. A little encouragement might help you try something new. Over time, you can discover the classes and teachers you connect with.

As a Bikram-certified teacher with more than 20 years of experience in the practice, I love sharing Hot 26 & 2 with our students. I also love seeing our community connect with the other teachers and classes that make The MATS what it is.

Each person brings something valuable into the room.

Familiar faces make showing up feel different

Consistency can be hard when life is full. Work, family, errands, and everything in between can make it difficult to set aside time for yourself.

Having a place where you feel comfortable can make showing up a little easier.

It might be the person you laugh with before class, an instructor who celebrates your progress, or the simple comfort of knowing what to expect when you walk through the door.

In a small community, you get to share those everyday moments. You see one another learning, trying again, and making time to move.

That sense of belonging grows with each visit.

Finding a place that fits

Choosing a studio is personal. Your schedule, budget, commute, preferred classes, and comfort in the space all matter.

Our studio is small, and we embrace the thoughtful teaching and close connections that setting makes possible.

We want The MATS to be a place where you feel welcome to ask questions, take breaks, try a new class, and return after time away. You don’t need to be flexible, strong, or experienced to join us.

You just need a place to begin.
